To use technology outside of the classroom to augment/deepen/locate MORE learning, not REPLACE learning.
That our PLP team conversations will make a lot of sense in "The Magnet Program" and will lead to new ways of doing it.
To figure out how not to feel conflicted about teaching writing in "old" vs. "new" modes; to embrace wholeheartedly this new landscape and feel/be integrated.
To become comfortable and efficient w/basic tools.
Two years from now, more fully implement the plans we create this year.
Assumptions:
That we will be focusing on students and faculty, though not necessarily equally.
That what we learn and share with fellow faculty members might be a slow process.
To be able to meet in person during the school day.
Many of our ideas will really be about NEXT YEAR.
We at YCDS will create a supportive, collaborative learning community.
We will group by department.
We will create something amazing.
We will meet to discuss our ideas.
We will have a lot of questions.
We will feel concerned or perhaps be focused on how to implement our new tools/knowledge/projects/etc.
That there will be ongoing support and encouragement as we proceed.
